China’s NPPA approved 119 games by November 2024

The National Press and Publications Administration (NPPA) announced the latest approval status for domestic and imported online games. In November 2024, a total of 119 games will receive an ISBN, consisting of 112 domestic games and 7 imported games.

As of November 20, NPPA has issued 1,282 ISBN game licenses in 2024. A total of 1,184 domestic games (1,180 domestic games, 4 games approved for ISBN change) have been approved and 98 imported games (97 imported games, 1 game approved for ISBN change- its) has been approved. NPPA issued a higher number of ISBNs this year compared to 2023, which is a positive development for the industry.

On the list of imported games that received ISBNs in November, there were 5 Mobile games, 1 PC game, and 1 PC & Mobile game. Pro Evolution Soccer is the most prominent title on the list, operated by NetEase in China, and developed by KONAMI. The mobile version was given an ISBN in August 2019.

On the list of domestic games that received ISBNs in November, there were 104 Mobile games and 8 PC & Mobile games. Notable titles are:

• Abyss Night Duet/Double Spiral, ACG PC & Mobile game, operated by Hero Game.
• Sheep: Planet/Sheep’s Sheep: Planet, mobile puzzle casual game, a new version of the very popular WeChat mini game of the same name in 2022, operated by JoYo.
• Other famous games include Youzu’s Endless Treasures/Endless Treasure Chest, Lingxi Game Flowers and Interludes (Ali Game), Misty Fairy Road Game 4399, Kingnet Rui’s Immortal Fate, Duoyi Net’s Dream World: Chang Feng Wen Jian Lu, Bingchuan Net’s Trendy Adventure Group.
